How to Update Existing Menu Item Name or Price
Go to Items → Search for the Item you’d like to update
Click into Item or the pencil to the left of Item you’d like to update
Update the Item name, price, etc and click OK
How to Update Modifiers within Modifier Group
Go to Modifier Groups → Search for the Modifier Group you’d like to edit
Click into the Modifier Group or the pencil to the left of it to update
To remove modifier from modifier group
Find the modifier to remove and click the 'X' next to that modifier → Click OK
To add modifier to existing modifier group
Select Add Item
Find the modifier you would like to add in the Search Bar
Select the modifier → Click OK
In the main Edit Modifier Group window → Click OK again
How to Update Item Photo
Although item photos can be updated within Brink as noted above, the Brink to Ordering Platform sync does not support photo updates presently. Therefore, item photos MUST BE UPDATED DIRECTLY IN THE ITSACHECKMATE PORTAL at this time by performing the following steps:
Log in to the ItsaCheckmate Portal
Go to Menu Management
Click on the image icon next to the item for which you’d like to add/update a photo
Select the image of your choice, by searching and selecting the image from your library or you may choose to drag and drop the desired file from your desktop in the highlighted area and select Save.
Photos are updated instantly in the portal
NOTE: Do not forget to push changes to the Ordering Platforms or the changes will not take effect.
How to Update Item Description
Go to Menu Items → Search Item Name (to add description) → Go to Description tab → Enter Description → Click OK
How to Mark Item as Sold Out
Marking items as sold out or (86’d) must be done in the Brink Portal. Follow the same steps if you want to mark a modifier as out of stock.
Step 1: Log in to your Brink POS, and go to the Settings Editor under the Configuration in the left panel
Step 2: Select the Location for which you wish to make changes and Click on "Items" in the Panel on the left
Step 3: Find the item you would like to mark as sold out, and uncheck the "Active" checkbox across that item
Uncheck the "Active" Checkbox, and the item will be marked as sold out until the item is marked as "Active" again.
Step 4: Click on "Save" to save the changes, and "Publish" to push the changes to the POS
Once the Changes are made to POS, they will be automatically sent to Ordering platforms with the next Automatic Sync, within 15 minutes. The item will be marked as sold out until marked as "Active" in POS.
NOTE: ItsaCheckmate polls the Brink POS EVERY HOUR, at which time the system will auto-sync, and the changes detected will push to the ordering platforms at that time. If you would like the change to be immediate, go to ItsaCheckmate Portal and Click on ‘Sync with POS’.
Updating Delivery Hours in the ItsaCheckmate Portal
Click on Hours > Regular Hours > Edit
Update the hours as needed and click Save
Click on Push to Ordering Platforms or the updates will not take effect.
Updating Special/Holiday Hours in the ItsaCheckmate Portal
Click on Hours > Special/Holiday Hours > Edit > +Add Special/Holiday Hours
Enter Special Day/Holiday Name > Date > Open/Close
*If you choose ‘Open’, set hours next in the ‘Open’ and ‘end time’ fields.
Use the ‘+’ to establish and set more than one time range for a particular day
Click Save when completed
Click on Push to Ordering Platforms or the updates will not take effect.
NOTE: This feature is only currently available for Uber Eats and DoorDash.
Updating Kitchen Prep Time in the ItsaCheckmate Portal
Click Kitchen Prep Time > Edit to access and Edit the prep times.
Default Prep Time
The system will automatically show the Ordering Platforms that support prep time and allows you to set a default prep time.
Set the Default Prep Time and click Save.
Time Specific Prep Time
If you have integrated ordering platforms that allow for time-specific prep time, you will have the option to uncheck the “use default prep times” button which will expand the days of the week.
Uncheck Use Default Prep Time > Set Day Prep Time for each day of the week as you would like
To set Prep Time based on time of day, check By Time Period

Enter start time and end time
-
Set prep time next to that time range
-
Select ‘+’ to add more time ranges for that day
Repeat above steps for each day of the week > Click Save when finished
Note: For Ordering Platforms that do NOT support time-specific prep times, their logo will appear below the Default Prep Time section and will only use the default time which applies to all days of the week.
For Ordering Platforms that DO support time-specific prep times and for which time-specific prep times are set, their logo will appear below the Time Specific Prep Time section making it easier to distinguish which OP is using which type of prep time.
Marking the Location Online/Offline in ItsaCheckmate Portal
You can mark the location or respective delivery platform(s) to appear offline/ online with the click of a button.
Make sure to hit external push when you make any change(s), or else the changes will not take effect.
Final Step: Pushing Changes to the Ordering Platforms
Once all updates are made in your Brink back end, to update the ordering platforms to manually push the changes to your Ordering Platforms:
Go to ItsaCheckmate Portal and Click on ‘Sync’. Once the POS Sync is complete then Click on Push to Online Platform(s). The system will auto-sync every hour and the changes will push to the ordering platforms at that time.
Note: Our system will automatically sync with your POS EVERY HOUR - if there is a change to the menu detected it will push out to the ordering platforms once the sync occurs.
