This error occurs due to a mismatch in modifier settings between the POS and Ordering platform menu.
There are three scenarios that would cause this error:
-
A modifier group is marked as “Required” in the POS, (Minimum 1 modifier to be selected) but is not marked as such on the Ordering platform menu. Example: The customer orders a menu item from the ordering platform menu but is not prompted to select a required modifier. When the order is sent to the POS, the POS will reject the order because it is programmed to receive at least one modifier from that modifier group for the item.
-
The Minimum number of allowable modifier selections for a required modifier group does not match between POS and Ordering Platform. Example: The modifier group on the ordering platform menu only requires one modifier to be selected, and the POS requires more than one. The customer orders the menu item and only selects one modifier. When the order is sent to the POS, the POS will reject the order because it is programmed to receive more than one modifier for that item.
-
The Maximum number of the allowable modifiers selection for a modifier group does not match between POS and Ordering Platform.
Example: The modifier group in the POS has a maximum selection limit of only 2 modifiers; however, the ordering platform menu has more than two modifier selection limits. When the order is sent to the POS, the POS will reject the order because it is programmed to receive a maximum of 2 modifiers from that modifier group for the item.
How to resolve the above errors: The required modifier condition (Minimum / Maximum) has to be the same in the POS and Ordering Platform menu.
