If you use our standard pricing model, you can round off menu prices using the Price Rounding feature.
Step 1: Log into the ItsaCheckmate Portal using your credentials
Step 2: Select Location Management
Step 3: Select the Location you wish to update the menu prices for and click on the MENU icon by that location
It will redirect you to the Menu Management Page
Step 4: Click on the pencil beside the “Price Elevation and Rounding”
Step 5: A pop-up for “Price Elevation” and rounding will open.
To use the rounding feature, toggle on Apply Rounding (optional), revealing the available Rounding options.
To Set Price Elevation
1. Click on the pencil next to "Price Elevation"
2. Set the Price Elevation to the desired percentage → Item and Modifier prices will automatically update within the portal
3. Select ‘Sync with POS’ for prices to update on your API-integrated ordering platforms
To Apply Price Rounding
1. Select the Rounding Feature you’d like to use: Traditional Rounding or Round Up
Traditional rounding will round up for any element that is 0.50 or more after the price elevation is applied and round down for elements less than 0.50
Round up will round up regardless of any decimal points
2. Select Rounding Type: To the nearest whole dollar or To the nearest $.99
The below example shows how an item with a default price of $17.25 would change depending on the Rounding Feature and Type selected:
|
Default price |
Traditional Rounding |
Round up |
---|---|---|---|
To the Whole Dollar |
$ 17.25 |
$ 17.00 |
$ 18.00 |
To the nearest $0.99 |
$ 17.25 |
$ 16.99 |
$ 17.99 |
3. Check the Optional box if you wish to Exclude any ITEMS and MODIFIERS that are less than $1.00
Note: If you do not check this box, all items and modifiers less than $1.00 will have the selected rounding feature and type applied to them. There is a possibility that some modifiers may be marked as free. For example, if you choose traditional rounding and have “Ketchup” at $0.25, then traditional rounding rules would apply and round the price DOWN to $0.00. To avoid this issue, a warning pop-up will appear, as shown in the screenshot below, allowing you to either Proceed or Cancel and change your settings accordingly before moving on.
Modifier Round Up EXAMPLE: If the default price of the modifier Premium Gluten Free Bun is $1.15, if we use the Round up Feature to the nearest whole dollar, it will update to $2.00.
Step 6: Once you have finished setting up your Price Elevation and Rounding, click on APPLY to save and apply your settings.
Step 7: To push the updated prices to online platforms, click on “Sync With POS” under the “Push Changes” in the lefthand panel, as shown in the image below
A pop-up will appear to confirm if you are sure. Click on “YES”
Step 8: Select the Ordering platforms where you wish the changes should be reflected and Click on PUSH
A completion confirmation will appear on your screen once the updates are successfully pushed to the ordering platforms.
